ABSTRACT: This paper describes a three-year institutional journey to enhance equity, engagement, and belonging in first-year mathematics at Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE). The initiative emerged in response to growing diversity among incoming students, who arrive from a wide range of national and international educational systems with varying levels of mathematical preparation. Over time, differences in readiness had translated into persistent achievement gaps and lower confidence among specific student groups, particularly those from under-represented backgrounds.
